Ardscoil Mhuire’s second year volleyball secured silver medals in the National Shield competition held in University of Limerick recently. They steamed
through the quarter finals beating
St. Raphael’s Loughrea and Portlaoise two sets to nil respectively. They dispatched Santa Sabina, Sutton in an equally effective manner in the All
-Ireland semi-finals with an impressive 25-7 and 25-8 in their winning sets which saw them through to the All-Ireland final against Patrician Presentation College, Fethard. The final proved to be a close fought match with the Ardscoil Mhuire girls getting off to an impressive start, winning the first set 25-21. However the Tipperary girls proved the stronger of the two teams winning the second set 25-18 and the third set 25-18.
Thanks to their dedicated trainer Ms. Karen Usher, who encouraged them all they way.
